No single classroom can hold everything a child needs to learn, and no single teacher is expected to be an expert in all of it. Our learning community reaches beyond our own staff room — to practitioners, specialists and organisations who bring their depth into it.
A Heritage Partner is not a one-off guest speaker. These are sustained, months-and-years-long relationships with individuals and organisations who return to our classrooms again and again — observing, teaching, training our own faculty, and shaping curriculum alongside us. Whether it is helping a child reason through a mathematics problem instead of merely solving it, using theatre to help a teacher know their own emotions before they walk into a room full of students, or equipping a family to navigate a child's life online — our partners extend what “Heritage” can mean for a student, well past the edges of a single subject or a single classroom.
This way of working asks something of us too. It means staying open to expertise we don't have in-house, trusting our partners with real access to our classrooms and our teachers, and being willing to let outside perspective reshape how we teach. In return, our students and teachers get to learn from people who have spent decades — sometimes entire careers — going deep into one thing: conceptual mathematics, experiential science, environmental action, digital safety, life education, or the practice of teaching itself.
